St. Clair Health Earns ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade From The Leapfrog Group for Fall 2024
This marks the 23rd time in 12 years the health system has received top marks
PITTSBURGH, PA (November 15, 2024) – St. Clair Health announced today that it has received an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade for the Fall 2024 period from The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit that is a leader in hospital transparency. This marks the 23rd time St. Clair Health has earned the top grade since The Leapfrog Group introduced its biannual Hospital Safety Grade program—the highest number of ‘A’ grades among all hospitals in the Pittsburgh region.

Since 2012, The Leapfrog Group has assigned a biannual A, B, C, D, or F grade for nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide based on their overall performance in keeping patients safe from errors, accidents, injuries, and infections. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public so consumers can quickly assess the safety of their local hospitals. It is the only hospital ratings program based exclusively on prevention of medical errors and harm to patients.
