A Better Place – Now Open!
By Amy Rabo

In the Winter 2013 edition, we introduced you to the Presbyterian SeniorCare Foundation A Better Place Capital Campaign. The campaign is designed to raise $2.5 million in contributions for a $6.5 million renovation of the rooms, common areas and Chapel at Westminster Place, a prestigious personal care community located next to Oakmont Country Club.

Now that the 89 larger, private apartments with kitchenettes are complete, we are offering tours to interested seniors and their families. Fresh paint, new carpet and updated furniture now line the common areas where current residents enjoy interacting with their neighbors in the new home-like environment. As fundraising efforts continue, we are currently focused on upgrading the historic chapel.

So what is a personal care community – why should you or a loved one want to live in these newly renovated rooms at Westminster Place? Are you tired of lugging your laundry down two flights of stairs? How about housecleaning? Is your parents' house too big to keep up with? What about security? Do you often feel unsafe when you are alone or are you concerned about a family member who spends too much time without companionship?

If you share any of those concerns, perhaps it's time for you or your loved one to have the security of knowing that assistance with life's daily activities is right there when you need it. Our caring staff will support you or your loved one by offering assistance with medication monitoring, personal hygiene and grooming, dining services, housekeeping and laundry. Staff and residents also engage in daily activities ranging from bingo to sing-alongs and trips into the community.
