Western Area Career and Technology Center's Practical Nursing Program

Have you dreamed of a career in nursing? Do you have a desire to help others in a meaningful way, through a career that offers constant challenges, opportunities for learning, personal satisfaction and job security? Are you searching for the right place to begin fulfilling your dream?

Look no further than Western Area Career and Technology Center (WACTC), where a dynamic and innovative Practical Nursing Program is changing the lives of its graduates. WACTC's program offers students educational excellence, flexibility and convenience. There are two program tracks to meet individual needs of students: a 12-month, full time track that holds classes Monday through Friday during daylight hours; and a 24-month part-time track, which meets in the evenings 2 or 3 nights per week and every other Saturday. With the part-time option, students can continue working and attend school part-time. Further flexibility is provided by WACTC's two locations: in Canonsburg, and in Charleroi.

With over 30 years of experience in educating practical nurses, WACTC has a sterling track record. The school is staffed by expert instructors and features state-of-the-art equipment, including a high-tech simulation lab for perfecting clinical skills.

WACTC's Practical Nursing Program is affordably priced and financial assistance is available for those who qualify. The Program's next class starts in September.

"There are many advantages to enrolling in our program," says Justin Trunzo, Health Sciences Supervisor at WACTC. "We're the most competitively priced program in the region, and we've been educating nurses since 1984. Graduates of our program earn IV Certification, which enhances their value on the healthcare job market."

WACTC is hosting an Open House on May 25, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Canonsburg location.  Attendees will have a chance to learn more about the program; speak with faculty; tour the classrooms and labs; and complete enrollment forms. Refreshments will be served. Those who attend will receive a valuable bonus: a discount on the admission fee.

WACTC is the perfect choice for women and men who are considering a career in nursing. Learn more by calling (724) 746-0467, or visit www.wactc.net/LPN.
