Woodcliffe Manor

Woodcliffe Manor opened as a 17 bed personal care home in 1986.Prior to becoming a personal care home Woodcliffe was the residence of Dr. Davies. Dr. Davies was an eye doctor here in Bethel Park, PA. Originally the home was a 5 bedroom estate. The original house is still intact; as you enter the front door the center stairway is still intact and being used. The living room is large and grand with a working fireplace in the living room. To the right of the stair case is the original dining room. Behind the staircase is the powder room, which still has the original marble on the walls. The original kitchen is still in use with the original wood cabinets. Off the dining room was a library / TV room. It had solid wood panel walls and custom book cases. Upstairs is the 5 bedrooms; two on the right and 3 on the left. One bathroom has blue marble and fixtures and the other across the hall is pink. Between the two sides is the sitting room with a bay window.

Dr. Davies was a very generous man and willed the property to become a home for the elderly. Unfortunately it took many years after his passing to become a reality. Woodcliffe Manor has always prided itself in giving excellent care to the elderly in a homelike setting. Residents spend their days in the living room or activity room eat their meals in the dining room or lounge on the covered back porch while watching birds eating at their bird feeders or deer gazing on the lawn. During the 1990's Woodcliffe wanted to expand by 17 beds. This plan met with a lot of opposition by the community but after years of trying Woodcliffe was able to add 13 more beds. Woodcliffe was sold in 2002 and the new owners added an 11 bed secured memory care unit named Carriage House.

Woodcliffe Manor prides itself in continuing to give excellent care and invites you to stop in for a tour.
