Local 5K Draws Big Turnout
This year's 36th annual Ohio Valley Hospital and Kennedy Township race saw one of their biggest crowds to date.

This past Saturday, March 13th, 2017, Ohio Valley Hospital and Kennedy Township hosted their 36th annual 5K race. The day began very early in the morning, but as the sun started to rise, the perfect running weather was provided for the largest 5K race OVH has had in years. There were 260 participants, eager to run and walk in the race, and 60 volunteers from all throughout the hospital and across that township, who wanted nothing more than to make this year's race a success. With everyone in the community, including dogs, rabbits, police officers, hospital employees, and racers, everyone was able to participate in a fun and successful event.

The fastest runners were the most fascinating of them all. 1st place overall for women was Natalie Finnerty with a time of 19 minutes and 39 seconds. 2nd place overall for women went to Erika Suhy with a time of 19 minutes and 59 seconds. 3rd place overall for women was Kathryn Jarocki with a time of 20 minutes and 32 seconds. For men, 1st place overall went to Matthew Puleio with a time of 16 minutes and 57 seconds. 2nd place overall for men went to Mac Polny with a time of 18 minutes and 22 seconds. 3rd place overall for men was Kenneth Midgley Jr. with a time of 18 minutes and 30 seconds. Congratulations to all of the top placing overall runners.

From the community, OVH welcomed a group from Seneca Valley School District, a group from Propel Montour Elementary School, a group from their very own PT Unlimited Unit within the hospital, and many more community members that were thrilled to be a part of such a community inspired event. Without the help from Rohrich Automotive Group, Clearview Federal Credit Union, and OVH's Board Member Mark Brennan, as well as Kennedy Township itself, the 36th annual 5K would not have been possible.
