Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley Relocates to New Facility
Lisa Hopkins, OTR/L, Business Development Director

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley, formerly known as HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Sewickley, relocated to a new, state-of-the-art hospital on Sept. 20. The hospital transferred services from its former 44-bed hospital located at 303 Camp Meeting Road to the new 55-bed hospital at 351 Camp Meeting Road in Sewickley.

The new hospital offers six rooms with dialysis connections, a spacious therapy gym with advanced rehabilitation technologies, in-house pharmacy, courtyard, dining room and dayroom areas. It will continue to provide multidisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation services to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries including strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.

The hospital offers physical, occupational and speech therapies in addition to 24-hour nursing care and frequent face-to-face visits by physicians trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation.

“After serving this community for almost 20 years, we are excited to move into a new home, which is designed with our patients’ needs in mind,” said Leah Laffey, CEO of Encompass Health Sewickley. “Our team is excited for the new amenities and technologies in addition to the new opportunities this brings for our patients in helping them return to their communities at their highest levels of function and independence.”

Encompass Health Sewickley first started serving the community in November 1999 under the Encompass Health network, formerly known as HealthSouth. In 2017, Encompass Health and Heritage Valley Health System formed a joint venture to own and operate the inpatient rehabilitation hospital. The hospital holds disease-specific care certification from The Joint Commission for its stroke, brain injury, amputee, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis and hip fracture rehabilitation programs.
